SUMMARY
Provides engineering to the Production Department
for tooling, process development and documentation
necessary to integrate and maintain products into
the production systems. Assists production in
achieving consistent quality and throughout with all
products. Plans, directs, and coordinates
manufacturing processes in plant. Supervises the
installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery,
equipment, physical structures, and electrical
systems in the manufacturing establishment by
performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing
methods.
Works with other departments involved with product
design and tooling to ensure efficient production
methods.
Confers with vendors to determine
production/facility specifications for equipment,
materials, or parts, and evaluates products
according to specifications and quality standards.
Confers with management, and other staff regarding
manufacturing capabilities, and other considerations
to facilitate production processes.
Assists individuals involved in the process of
integrating new products into the production
systems.
Designs new processes and production techniques
required for new products.
Designs and develops customer tooling.
Works with production staff to solve problems with
product in production.
Directs activities that involve plant improvement
and repair.
Directs maintenance and repair or production
equipment.
Directs or conducts observation and analysis of
personnel and work procedures to determine time and
motion requirements of job duties. Applies
principles of industrial engineering and applied
psychology to evaluate work methods proposals and to
develop recommendations to management affecting
work methods.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's
degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university;
or eight years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, analyze,
and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to work with
mathematical concepts such as probability and
statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and
solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply
concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and
proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve
practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.
