The IPC molding machines are vertical injection presses with a 12 station rotary base which utilizes "book" style molds. Once programmed, the onboard computer system controls over 50 process parameters with one-touch access. This system is uniquely able to handle small production runs due to its fast setup and pre-programmed parameters. Mold change-over typically takes about 5 minutes (if it's not already on the rotary turntable) and pre-molding procedures can take as little as 10 minutes and it's ready to mold. Incidentally, book molds are considerably cheaper to make than traditional 2 or 3 piece molds.
